Excessive fragmentation on UFS filesystem

Hi all

I've a quick query regarding a filesystem issue I'm seeing.

The (UFS) filesystem is very fragmented; fsck -n returns the following:

60823 files, 749275 used, 268916 free (268916 frags, 0 blocks, 26.4%
fragmentation)

The disks are mirrored, so I plan to do the following:

0: boot from cd
1: break mirrors
2: ufsdump from one disk to another
3: set up mirror on the "dumpee" disk ; reattach other side of mirror.

This should clear my problem; I know this requires downtime and is
inherently risky, so to help me out on a Friday afternoon, does anyone
know any tips or tricks I could employ do avoid dropping the box? I
can't think of any off-hand, but I could do without the downtime :)

Of course, I'll summarise.

Regards

Sam
