how do we know a given product name is installed (which SUNWxxx is that)

Hi,

My apologies if this is a basic question :

I frequently have to assess whether a particular patch is
applicable on our servers. One of the issue I faced is :

  Given a product name(sometimes unbundled/optional product)
say, "Sun Java System Web Proxy Server 3.6 Service Pack 7",
what's the easy way to find out if I have this product installed
on our Sun servers & which Service Pack level it currently has.
If I'm the original person who installed these servers, I may know
its history but my predecessor is not around anymore.

I thought of using : "pkginfo | grep -i Java" but is there anything
  better than this?

So I may have questions like say for this product/package, what
is the SUNWxxx name (where xxx is the unknown that I would
like to find out). If I'm not wrong, within a package, there could
  be several SUNWxxx

Is there any website that tells me all these or I have to
  Google to find out this.

Thanks,
G Sun
