OS upgrade with VxVM

Hello,

I have a problem about upgrading from Solaris 7 to Solaris 8. Machine
is E4500 and I want to OS upgrade ( just upgrade not install new OS ,
because I want to protect my data). However
there is VxVM installed in this machine. I want to learn procedures
about How do i do this without losing Veritas Volume Manager
configuration and data on volumes ?

I googled and found something. However, solutions are very different
and I am confused. I want to ask question.
