Hi,
We are looking to expand and looking for storage solution:
we have looked at sun solution which compose of:
I) SUN Enterprise E-280R Server, single 750MHz., 1GB. Memory, 36.4GB. FC-AL
Disk. (Rack-mount)
II) SUN L-9 (40-80GB. x 9) Desktop DLT-AutoLoader (Single Drive, 9 slot)
{Diff SCSI} Veritas
BUNDLE
and Hitachi Solution
I) 1 x 9200 ( 3x73Gb disk ) including 1x73Gb hot spare and 256 Gb cache
II) NSS Server
III) SUN L-9 (40-80GB. x 9) Desktop DLT-AutoLoader (Single Drive, 9 slot)
{Diff SCSI} Veritas
BUNDLE
both solutions recommended by a colleague.
I intend to NFS mount over TCP/IP and it will be mainly used for ASIC design
and Simulation and connected to network compose of sun blades 100s, x000s.
We'll need 200(Min) and 300GB+(Max.
I need advice on whether if above is good or not if not what are the other
solutions on the market? as I feel I need to look at other solutions as
well.
Like everyone we are looking for quality, reliability, maintainability etc.
