problems with 3510FC and V20z

We've had a 3510fc and v20z for testing for a few weeks now. Unfortunately
we are facing the following problems. We've been trying to get it to work
on RHES3.0. We wanted to run Veritas VM and cluster server on a set of
3510fc's and v40zs, so we wanted to test on a smaller scale first.

1) http://seer.support.veritas.com/docs/272412.htm
Veritas does not support Opteron's 'natively', it requires installing
32bit Pentium kernels, which our admins believe kills the whole point of
using Opterons (none of the processor 'extentions' would be utilized)
Veritas might support Opteron's in August.

2) Our next option for having dual paths to the disk was to install Sun
Traffic Manager (for clustering we could use Red Hat Cluster, but that
wasn't a priority until this was figured out). Unfortunately, the Sun
Traffic Manager didn't like our OS either:

   [user@sunfire user]$ ./installsstm
   version 2.4.21-15.ELsmp: not supported

Questions to Sun for workarounds resulted in no-response.

So, what are our options in seeing dual paths to disk? Withought dual
paths, our project will have to be on hold until Veritas supports
Opterons.

Thanks
