Upgrading Qlogic HBA's to "Sun-branded" status

This question has come up before on the list but I haven't found a
definitive answer:

SunSolve has patches available that upgrade firmware on Sun supplied Qlogic
ISP fibre HBA's. Is it possible to use this firmware on original, ie. not
Sun branded, Qlogic HBA's? All this of course to be able to use luxadm,
traffic manager, MPxIO, etc. with these cards.

Also, I have a lot of Emulex lpfc HBA's which I want to "upgrade" to Sun
firmware, but I cannot find Emulex firmware on SunSolve. I guess this
upgrade is not possible at all?
