Dear gurus,
I would like to make a new fresh install of solaris 9 on my NIS master
serveur (let's say A)
I've setup a NIS slave master (let's call it B) running Sol 8
The main idea is to reconfigure A without stopping the clients
I would like to have your opinion.
First, make the NIS slave-master B in the master mode.
For this :
* Copy all the maps & makefile to the future master (B)
* On B# cd /var/yp ; rm *.time ; make NOPUSH=1
* Install copies of the new maps on master B to A
on A# ypxfr -h B -f passwd.byuid
# yppush password.byuid
#same for all maps
Then we stop A, install solaris 9 on A, make A a NIS slave/master of B
then make A the master and B the slave/master again.
Is anything wrong?
Any advice?
Thanks
Yann
