Moving an A1000 to another host

Sun Managers,

I have 2 A1000s on an E250, which contains about 80 gigs of data that I
need to quickly (1-2 days) move to a new StorEdge FC Array. I tried the
NFS - ufsdump method this last weekend and it estimated out to 85 hours
to move the data. This exceeds my window significantly.

So I purchased the same HBAs for my SunFire 280R that are in my E250,
and wanted to physically remove the A1000s from the E250 and connect it
to the 280R.

My thought on this, and I admit I havn't done alot of hardware work on
Sun boxes, was once the A1000s were connected boot the 280R with a
boot -r to reconfigure the devices, it'd see the partitions and I'd
mount the one I need and ufsdump the data over to the storage array
from the A1000.

Is it doable like this? Is there any experiences others have had that
would support or complicate this approach?

I google'd this idea and come back with one hit that made me think this
was feasible, but some additional insight would help greatly.

Thanks for any help!

Tom
