Hello,

Just to let everyone know; I have not posted a summary for the
"HDS9970 vs EMC DMX800" post because I am still collecting data.
Once the collect is complete, I will post the results in a Summary.

    We have a CX600 with 16 Sun, 3 HP-UX, and 9 Windows 2000 hosts. On
all of the servers, the fail-over is working fine if the HBA, GBIC, or
Cable failure occurs on our Suns. But, when an SP fails or reboots, all
of our Suns Systems with Veritas Volumes go off-line. Our NT and HP-UX
systems seem to fail-over fine when an SP fails or is rebooted. Do you
have any ideas to solve this?

    Our Configurations:

    _*Suns:
*_ All are SPARC based
Each System has redundant Emulex Cards in it (either SBUS or PCI)
Solaris 2.8 & 2.6 (Recommended patches from 12/03, including the SAN
patches)
    Veritas VM 3.5MP2 Patchpoint 1.1b
We are using Veritas DMP with the EMC's CLR-ASL utilities for
fail-over control

    _*Windows 2000:*_
Each server has ONE Emulex HBA in it (PCI Based - same 9002 as the
Solaris PCI systems)
    Windows 2000 SP 4
We are using EMC's PowerPath for fail-over control between SPs and
Fabric Switch Only

    _*HP-UX:*_
Each (K-Class) server has TWO HP-approved 1Gbit Fiber Card
    HP-UX 11.00
We are using PV-Links for fail-over control

    _*Zoning & Switch Evironment:*_
    Connectrix ED-64M Fabric 64-port Switch (McData )
Each Sun HBA is zoned to one SP only (ie: HBA0 to SPA, HBA1 to SPB)
Each Windows Server HBA is zoned to see both SPs
Each HP-UX HBA is zoned to one SP only (ie: HBA0 to SPA, HBA1 to SPB)

Thanks,
Richard Cross
