Hi All,

On a server i wish a non priv user to be able to tar a set of files he
has no rwx to,

Hoping to sudo,

suoders looks like,

theuser ALL=NOOPASSWD: tar -xvf file.tar /sourcedir

However when i hit a file i have no wrx on i get tar permission
denied.

Also tried to script it and sudo the script as a ROOTCMD under the
cmnd_Alias.

Anyone any clues as to how to tar this dir the user has no wrx on ?

I cant run as a root cron script as i have a manual process check
before the tar can go !!! ( dont ask - case open with vendor ) - so
until i can automate - i need to be able to let an end user ( non root )
run manually.

TIA

Laurence
