Hi
A big thanks to all for the fast response
My new VXFS filesytems were created with no largefile support ?
The fix is ..

# fsadm -F vxfs /dir_name
should tell you. If it isn't enabled, you can enable it with
# fsadm -F vxfs -o largefiles /dir_name

Subject: File too large problem

Hi

I'm trying to move data to a new LSI storage system.
each time I try to cp or rdist the 3.4GB file I get "File too large" errors.
The copy seems to run until 2.1 GB then it fails.

I've checked the ulimit -a output,
which is set to unlimited

glas226>> ulimit -a
time(seconds) unlimited
file(blocks) unlimited
data(kbytes) unlimited
stack(kbytes) 8192
coredump(blocks) unlimited
nofiles(descriptors) 100
vmemory(kbytes) unlimited
glas226>>

I have tried to run this in a bourne and C-Shell
with no limits set on either.
I have run the comand from a Solaris 8 amd Solaris 9 Client.
I also avoided automounter , and manually mounted the filesystem just in case.
Also the remote filesystem (target) is a vxfs filesystem.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Best Rgds
Rob
