I have a SunBlade 2000 running Solaris 8. I recently acquired a 20" flat
panel
ViewSonic monitor which has both analog(DSUB) and digital(DVI) inputs.
When the monitor is connected using the analog cable to the DSUB
connector on my XVR-100 card, I have full console and CDE use, but when
I connect with the digital cable to the DVI connector I get nothing at all.
Now
from everything I've read, I should not expect to see console data. My
question and
concern is why the Xserver (CDE) is not starting at the appropriate time
during
the boot. Perhaps somebody can point me to the correct way to do this, if
indeed
it can be done. There is a setting on the monitor which I changed but this
did not
help and the installation manual for the video card hasn't been any help
either.
