Partial summary: redundant power failed - any command to check/verify this

Hi,

Just found out that the E420R was purchased with a single PSU/AC only.

Sun Solution Centre told me to upgrade the OBP firmware to the latest version
(I think it's 3.31) so that 'prtdiag -v' will show additional information but still it
shows very little information. The field guy said this is because of the design
of the E420R. On our E250s, 'prtdiag -v' show a lot more columns such as
"Memory", "Environmental Status", "Fan Bank" & "Power Supplies".

I was told also that even if I were to install Tivoli client into the E420R, Tivoli
wont report failures of the components covered by one of the 4 abovementioned
columns. Neither will it log the component failure into /var/adm/messages
(but it will for say E250)

Rgds

Hi,

I've verified it's not a power cord issue as the same power cord when
inserted into the 1st power socket of my E420 worked while the same
cord when inserted into the other socket could not power up the box.

What's the command to use to verify this - cant seem to find it in
prtdiag -v

Thanks vm
Goh
