SUN Apache 1.3.29 has broken mod_proxy?

Hi,

we're trying to use SUN's Apache/S9 for security proxy-services (in fact,
apache runs in dmz and takes ftp-requests from intranet to the evil
outside). Now using "wget" to fetch a gzipped-File, once i an while the file
is corrupt (a few bytes longer after transfer, gzip reports file
corruption).
- This does NOT happen when fetching it directly with wget or a ftp client
like ncftp, only via apache proxy.
- This does also not happen via on an older Apache 1.3.26/Sol8 proxy.

Anyone else seen similar? I am worried to open a SUN call, a solution
probably taking longer than coding a webserver myself in Visual Basic and I
am even more worried that the only solution is to NOT use SUN's apache which
it probably is...

Cheers,
Matt.
