ls command issue

Dear All,

               We have an issue where in there are too many files in a
directory it doesn't get listed using ls or ls -l command. But when we
delete certain amount of files alone and then we could see the files. Please
advise. Is this a general solaris bug??? and also is there any patch to
solve it .
