Alan West requested that I repost this note as a summary.

I asked for help with an issue of writing a DVD with cdrw some weeks ago.
The configuration I am using is an Ultra 10 workstation running Solaris 9.
The DVD drive is a Plextor PX-708A.

Several responders suggested using cdrecord-prodvd. This works but it is
licensed for non-commercial use only and no support is available.

I opened a case with Sun and after a couple of weeks of running diagnostic
tests and sending results to Sun engineering I was sent a new binary for
cdrw. The new binary fixes the issues the problem I was having with
recording DVD+R with cdrw.

The binary will be released as a patch in about 1 1/2 months. The bugid
no. is 5039437 for those who have a Sunsolve account. The release of the
patch with the new binary can be tracked via this bug ID.
