Hard-Drive visible to probe-scsi-all but not to format

Hello All,

I'm trying to boot an Ultra 1 from a hard-disk which was previously the boot
HD of an Ultra 2 (whose motherboard has died). The initial part of the boot
goes fine, it picks up the correct hostname etc but it stops at doing an
fsck on the HD. When I log in as root to fsck from the command prompt, it
turns out that the HD can't be seen. I tried format then and it can't see
the disk either (no disks found). However "iostat -E" and probe-scsi-all
find the drive at the correct target number etc. fine. Any ideas what could
be the problem here? It's a 2.1GB drive, so it's not a problem with the size
of the drive. I have seen a number of "probe-scsi-all sees it but format
doesn't" type queries in the archives but no summaries with an appropriate
solution.

Any help much appreciated...

Thanks,
John.
