Being a solaris sys admin with limited knowledge of sendmail. I was given the task of implementing the following setup.

All the servers referred to in this email are running Solaris 9 and
Sendmail 8.12.10+Sun/8.12.10.

I have server A with the following needs,

      * Has to send out mail as xyz@domain.com while the server itself is
not in that domain. let's call it "serverAdomain.com"
      * Has to send mail out on port 2500 when sending out mail as
xyz@domain.com and port 25 for any other outgoing / incoming requests.

      * Has to use a certain relayserver (ServerB.domain.com) when sending
out mail as xyz@domain.com.
      * Has to recieve mail when someone sends it to xyz@domain.com. (Pls
note that this server itself is not in domain.com).

Server B has the following needs,

      *Server B is in domain.com
      * It has two interfaces one facing towards our internal network
(actually this in its own private extranet with limited ports open between
our intranet and this private extranet) and one facing towards the
internet. Our security team is very strict with this box and has opened only
ports that are absolutely needed.

*I have made server B to listen on port 2500 by editing the
/etc/init.d/sendmail and running another instance of sendmail as -oOOP=2500.

*Currently i am able to send out mails from serverA as user@domain.com
(using the masquerade feature) through the internal interface of server B on
port 2500. I have configured server A to send outgoing mail on port 2500
using the FAQ on sendmail.org.

      The problem,
*When a mail or a reply is sent to user@domain.com it lands in local
mailbox on server B. I want to route this mail to the same user (as in same udername) on server A.That is mail sent to user@domain.com should go to user@serverAdomain.com.

      * I have confirmed that the ports connectivity between 2500 on server
A and 2500 on private side of serverB.

*I need to configure sendmail on server B in such a way that it uses
one relay server(server B's extranet side) to send out mail to the internet
and one relay server (server B's intranet side) to send mail to server A.
Basically what i need is two relayservers within the same sendmail
configuration to send to two different domains.

I have tried virutal hosting, mailertable configuration and everything
that's mentioned in the sendmail FAQ and spent countless hours on the web
trying to find a solution. Nothing works.Because of the complex nature of
the network connections and complex requirements for sendmail i have not
been able to get any god help on this one and am trying as a last resort to pose my problem to the best mailing list ever.

Any help will be greatly appreciated,
