Collisions on 100M full duplex?

I'm seeing something from netstat that I don't understand.

packets errs packets errs colls packets errs packets errs colls
32136744 0 56716151 0 2490476 68777157 28 92928209 0 2554337
152 0 267 0 0 330 0 444 0 1

This is on a SUNW,Ultra-5_10, using an hme NIC that is connected to a bay
networks switch. The switch, and the NIC are both confirming that they are
in 100M full duplex mode. The switch is not showing any collisions on this
port.

How can i gave collisions on a full duplex connection? and what is a
collision in the context of a incoming packet? I can see what it would bee
for an outgoing packet? But how can I determine a collision has occurs on
an incoming packet?

Thanks for educating me on this. I discovered it while troubleshooting what
turned out to be a unrelated issue.
