Dear Sun Managers,

I've an E4500 machine with Solaris 8 with the
following configuration.

Sun 8-slot Sun Enterprise E4500/E5500 (8 X
UltraSPARC-II 400MHz)

Intrlv. Intrlv.

Previously, this machine was running Solaris 2.6 and
system performance was fine. Recently, this machine
had been upgraded to Solaris 2.8 and the kernel
parameters that are brought over from Solaris 2.6
settings on /etc/system of machine are as follows:

   set snooping=1
   set autoup=90 & set tune_t_fsflushr=15
   set bufhwm=8000
   set maxphys=1048576
   set ecache_scrub_enable=1, set
ecache_scan_rate=1000 & set
   ecache_calls_a_sec=100

Customer is complaining system is slow after the
migration. By right, Solaris 8 performance should be
better than Solaris 2.6.

I would like to find from you guys what are those
parameters for and is it advisable to put in there.

Thanks in advance.

Regards,
Tim
