hi ,
i have a small request for you; Please read this carefully and answer the
following questions.
I loaded solaris 8 for intel platform ; while loading it did not take the IP
address netmask etc; so i skipped that section and then later on tried to
install nic by giving sys-unconfig and then also it is not taking the ip and
netmask etc ; the error message was " "AN error occurred while trying to set
the IP address xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx on the network interface"
one more problem is that when i gave sys-unconfig the system stayed idle for
half an hour and it was doing nothing; so i just gave init 0 ; and rebooted;
does this mean that sys-unconfig has not completed its action or the sys-
unconfig was not working properly;
So please help me ; what should i do in order to keep this system on network;
