Hello,
Situation: An already installed server (solaris 8) has a wrong hostname
from
the beginning. I change the hostname in these files and
reboot:
/etc/hosts
/etc/hostname.hme0
/etc/net/ticots/hosts
/etc/net/ticlts/hosts
/etc/net/ticotsord/hosts
Problem: When it starts coming up it fails while setting up the
network
interface with the message "Address family not supported by
protocol family"
If i enter "ifconfig -a" it just gives me this output on the
loopback device and
it doesn't list the hme0 entry. I can set up the hme0
manually by using
ifconfig, and it works. Of course, after a reboot the same
problem occurs.
I have found NOTHING related to this on the net. All I have found is just
quick references
regarding the IPv6 but nobody who has had this same problem as I have
experienced here.
Please, if someone has a good solution I would appreciate it alot!
Yours Sincerely,
Espen Skog
