Hi All,
I am trying to create a cross-platform install server on a SPARC system.
As per Solaris 9 Installation guide, the x86 1 of 2 CD media should
contain slice s0 and slice s2. But the x86 8/03 media CD does not seem
to contain these links as mentioned in the guide.
The link from /cdrom/Solaris_9/Tools/BOOT to s0 is not valid.
bash-2.05# cd Solaris_9/
bash-2.05# ls -lat
total 108
drwxr-xr-x 7 root root 2048 Jun 17 2003 .
drwxr-xr-x 324 root bin 43008 Jun 17 2003 Product
drwxr-xr-x 5 root bin 2048 Jun 17 2003 Misc
drwxr-xr-x 2 root bin 2048 Jun 17 2003 Tools
dr-xr-xr-x 2 root sys 2048 Jun 17 2003 ..
drwxr-xr-x 2 root bin 2048 Jun 17 2003 Docs
drwxr-xr-x 2 root bin 2048 Jun 17 2003 Patches
bash-2.05# cd Tools/
bash-2.05# pwd
/cdrom/Solaris_9/Tools
bash-2.05# ls -lat
total 192
drwxr-xr-x 7 root root 2048 Jun 17 2003 ..
drwxr-xr-x 2 root bin 2048 Jun 17 2003 .
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root other 11 Jun 17 2003 Boot ->
../../../s0
-rwxr-xr-x 2 root bin 59586 Apr 15 2003 add_install_client
-rwxr-xr-x 2 root sys 1325 Apr 15 2003 dial
-rwxr-xr-x 2 root bin 18599 Apr 15 2003 rm_install_client
-rwxr-xr-x 2 root bin 13045 Apr 15 2003
setup_install_server
So when I run the /cdrom/Solaris_9/Tools/setup_install_server, I get
this error :
bash-2.05# ./setup_install_server /export/home/install
ERROR: Install boot image /cdrom/Solaris_9/Tools/Boot does not exist
Check that boot image exists, or use [-t] to specify a valid boot image
elsewhere.
How do I create a x86 install server on a SPARC system with a x86 CD
media? Any help on this is much appreciated.
Thank you,
Sanjay
