HI,
I have a SunFire system running solaris 8. I'd like to set up NTP
service on this server to either synchronize with public time server or our
private time server.
However, I am getting the following errors.

/export/home/khuang# ntpq -p
localhost: timed out, nothing received
***Request timed out
/export/home/khuang# ps -ef | grep ntp
  khuang 25400 25391 0 13:40:06 pts/2 0:00 grep ntp
    root 22294 22293 0 Mar 26 ? 0:00 /usr/sbin/ntpdate -s -w
10.102.3.42
    root 22293 1 0 Mar 26 ? 0:00 /sbin/sh /etc/rc2.d/S74xntpd
start
/export/home/khuang# more /etc/inet/ntp.conf
# @(#)ntp.client 1.2 96/11/06 SMI
#
# /etc/inet/ntp.client
#
# An example file that could be copied over to /etc/inet/ntp.conf; it
# provides a configuration for a host that passively waits for a server
# to provide NTP packets on the ntp multicast net.
#
server 10.102.3.42 minpoll 6 maxpoll 6
#multicastclient 224.0.1.1
