I am trying to create a log file for a cronjob with date appended to it.
For example,
* * * * * who -T | awk '{$7="old"} {print "kill -9 " $8 }' >> /tmp/cleanup_`date +%m%d%y`.log
KSH# ls -l /tmp/cleanup*
-rw-r--r-- 1 root other 39 Mar 9 09:28 /tmp/cleanup_
The date part is missing. How can achieve this.
