Sun Fire system controllers in private network

Hi Gurus,

Can you please give me some information why SF
6800/48x0/3800's system controllers network should be
in private network.

I called Sun Tech Support. The first support person I
spoke with told me that the SC should not be in public
to prevent SC from receiving a lot packets because
it's filling up the memory and when memory gets full
the main SC will failover to spare SC. This confuses
me because the network interface should just deny the
packets if it's not meant for him/it. If it's filling
up the memory because of the logs, I believe that the
logs in the buffer just get overwritten when new ones
come in. So I called SUN again to clarify. The second
support person I spoke with told me that since the SCs
network interface is a 10bit interface, it can't
afford to accept packets from 100bit interface?!?!?!.
This confuses me also. Can you please help me.

Thanks,
Sunsa
