Hi,
we have a setup where remote hosts are configured as LDAP clients, and we
"ssh -X remoteuser@remotehost" where <remoteuser> doesn't have a
homedirectory on <remotehost>. In this case, the remote sshd attempts to
save the X11-cookie into remoteuser's homedir, but obviously this fails
(since no home-dir).
Consequently, the remote 'sshd' does not set the DISPLAY variable, and no
tunneling is done.
Is there any way we can install the X11-cookie in a place on 'remotehost',
where the remote clients can pick them up ? But then still we need to have a
way to manually make the X11-tunneling across the SSH-connection. Is this
possible ?
TIA
Rob
