Hello sunmanagers,

Will there be any benefits of of compiling qmail as 64 bit app on
solaris 8 in 64 bit pls?

Some people say 64 bit code is larger than 32 bit so the cache memory
will be used more and total system performance will go down on high
 volume of messages.

Other people say that system i/o libs may work better in 64 bit mode
(does it matter which app libs called from, 32 or 64 mode compiled?).

Another opinion is that qmail written in 32 bit *BSD system and it
doesn't matter what mode it will be compiled on solaris - no performance
 gain at all.
