Could anybody please help me in setting up NTP Server and client on solaris
9.
i have configured ntp server as
Become superuser.
Create the ntp.conf file.
To ensure proper execution of the xntpd daemon, the ntp.conf file must first
be created. The ntp.server file can be used as a template.
# cd /etc/inet # cp ntp.server ntp.conf
Start the xntpd daemon.
# /etc/init.d/xntpd start
then i have configured ntp client as
Create the ntp.conf file.
To activate the xntpd daemon, the ntp.conf file must first be created.
# cd /etc/inet # cp ntp.client ntp.conf
Start the xntpd daemon.
# /etc/init.d/xntpd start
still the clock does not get syncronised
i donnt have any of following files in ntp server and ntp client
/etc/inet/ntp.keys , /etc/inet/ntp.drift
now
------
i stop the ntp deamon on client as /etc/init.d/xntpd stop
when i run the following command on NTP client
ntpdate -v 10.2.10.24
The error/output i am getting is
29 Jan 11:54:55 ntpdate[471]: ntpdate 3-5.93e Mon Sep 20 15:45:30 PDT 1999
(1)
29 Jan 11:54:55 ntpdate[471]: no server suitable for synchronization found
