Java performance Sol8 Vs. Sol9

Has anyone had any expiernences with Java running considerably slower on
Solaris 8 than 9? We are installing Oracle 9.2 which uses a Java-based
installer. Yes, we have applied patches on our Sol8 box.

The entire process took 20 minutes on our Solaris 9 box. On the Solaris 8
box, it's looking like it's going to take 7+ hours.

I came across a refernce that said to set LD_LIBRARY_PATH to /usr/lib/lwp
for Solaris 8 and lower. This is essentially the default (only option) on
Solaris 9. This helped a little (previously, it looked like it was going
to take 20+ hours) but 7 hours compared to 20 minutes is still not
promising.

We have a ticket open with Sun but I figured I'd mention here to see if
anyone had any answers.
