Network link failed error in E3500

Hi,
  I am getting a network link failed error in E3500 while jumpstarting the machine through a serial console.I am able to access the machine on the network without any problem when it boots up from disk.There are no other error messages.
  I get a transreciever check failed error when i do a watch-net on the ok prompt.

Any suggestions to further diagnose and correct this problem?
