All,

I have installed and configured Sun ONE's v5.2 LDAP server. Users are
able to authenticate it properly. To populate the users I've used the
ldapaddent command for the passwd, shadow, and group files. Here is
where the problem starts...

I'm trying to setup ACI's that will only allow users to connect to
predesignated hosts. I am trying to setup host groupings and set
ACI's for those groups but am unable to select any of the users that
were created using the ldapaddent command. I am trying to create the
initial ACI's with the console. When I search for the users they
simply don't show up at all. The icon next the the user names in the
People group is a circle. If I create a user through the console the
the icon is that of a human torso and I am then able to search for the
user and add them into groups for the ACI's.

Does anyone know why this is or, short of recreating all of the users
again through the console, how I can accomplish this?

The OS is Solaris 9, and the hardware is a v100 and a SunFire 280.

TIA!
