I would like to get some comments on setting up internal disks on a V880 to
achieve the highest availability and fault tolerance.
I have a V880 with a single FC-AL backplane and six disks connected to it.
Disksuite is used to mirror each of the disks. Some concerns have come up
about backplane failure. Would it be better to install a second backplane
and mirror the disks across the controllers? The V880 Owner's Guide
suggests use two FC-AL host adapters and multipathing software for fault
tolerance and high availability -- but if this is done, wouldn't I just have
two paths to one disk, which could still fail?
Comments are appreciated and I will summarize.
Thanks.
