Howdy,
Thanks to the many folks who responded confirming that a single node
cluster is indeed valid if node 2 of 2 is rebooted in non-cluster mode.
Now a followup: If I were to reboot node 2 of 2 in non-cluster mode,
then shut the remaining cluster node 1 down at some later point, is
merely running 'scinstall -r' on node 2 sufficient to clear out all the
cluster software and update the firmware so that 'boot' rather than
'boot -x' is the default for node 2?
Node 1 will not be restarted for quite a while afterwards and more than
likely not in cluster mode.
I just want to ensure that node 2 is totally 'cluster unaware' and can
function as a regular standalone node afterwards. We will be installing
Solaris 9 on it and want to ensure that it has proper EEPROM settings
for booting etc. I haven't set up any NVRAM scripts on this machine to
change scsi-ids or the like.
Thanks
Scotty
