SunFire v210 + PGX64 = X-windows can not start

We just bought a brand new SunFire v210 and a brand new PGX64 video
card to add on to it. Installed Solaris 8 12/02 (X-Windows worked fine
there) but after rebooting, I get the "X-Windows can not start on
display :0" message.

Boot into single user mode, do the following:

# m64config -res 1024x768 -depth 8
# ctrl-d
Still no X-windows

I was able to get X started ONCE (800x600 8 bit color). I logged
in, ran the above m64config command, logged off, and when X restarted,
the resolution WAS 1024x768. When I rebooted the box though, X wouldnt
start.

Here is what else I have tried so far:
1 - Upgraded ALOM & OBP to latest versions
2 - Installed patch 108606-33
3 - Tried 2 different PGX64 cards
4 - Tired 2 different types of monitors (21" DEC and 19" Sun)
5 - Multiple (10+) variations of the m64config command.
(vga, svga, 1280x1024, 8 bit color, 24 bit color, etc)

I have searched the sunmanagers archives, sunsolve, and google
and havent found anyone else having this problem.

Am I missing something or are there known problems with the v210s?

Thanks!
Jason

P.S. Running "m64config -res 800x600 -depth 8" a second time did NOT
get X-Windows started. It looks like that one time it did start
     was a fluke.
