Missing man pages on Solaris 8 October 2000, Revision A

Regular readers may recall a problem I had some time ago installing the latest
version of Solaris 8 on an Ultra 5. This was never resolved and I ended up
installing October 2000, Revision A which was the only other version to hand.
I selected the second from largest install option (i.e. everything execpt OEM
files AFAIR) but yet I don't have standard man pages.

I have searched through the pkginfo files on all the CDs looking for the man
pages but can't find them (found a number of packages with man pages but none
with the man pages for the standard commands e.g. man, ls etc.)

I have another Solaris 8 box which does have man pages but I'm afraid that
pkginfo -l on that box also leaves me clueless as to what package the
standard man pages are in.

Can some kind person enlighten me as to what package I need to install from
the Solaris 8 October 2000, Revision A CDs to get these man pages ?

This actually brings up another question - is there any way after the fact of
building a database that I can query for the package owner of a file e.g.

whatpkg /usr/share/man/sman1/man.1

and then I would be able to see what package provided that file, and wouldn't
have to have asked the above question.

The information must be available somewhere, as otherwise pkgrm wouldn't be
possible.
