Sorry to be a bit off-topic here, but I am wondering if any managers
out there have received their v240's with a preconfigured ALOM password.
2 of the 4 we received did not let us establish our own password for
admin - they have been set to something that is unknown.
Of my main concerns, top-most is that these units were used/demo'd
somewhere. Last thing I need is a "new" v240 that isn't really new.
Sun's solution is rather sub-optimal... adding a new user with admin
rights. The tech suggested that these may have been set up to test
before being shipped and someone forgot to reset things to normal. That
also leaves the question in my mind of what else did they "forget"
before sending these units out. QC for these units is already suspect as
it is with the motherboard/NIC issues and other various
production/delivery delays.
