Hi All,

My company has servers with Linux and Sun OS. We are using NIS for password authentication. The password file is on Linux machine. We are trying to apply password aging on all accounts. We have to do this on Linux machine. When I applied password aging on Linux machine, this information didnt appear on Sun machines. What I mean is, I am not getting any warning in Sun machine even if my password is expired. When I login to Linux machine, I get warning and when I change my password over there, it gets changed in all machines.

I want the system in the way that it will give me a warning on Sun machines also. I checked and found out that Sun machines are getting all the information about login Ids and passwords, but not getting any information about password age.

I used chage on Linux machine. Is there any other way so that age information will be available to Sun machines and I will get warning about password expiration on those machines too?

Thanks in advance,

Kirtan
