Advice and odd error

Greetings and thanks in advance for any responses. Recently I gave
away a Sun U1 I wasn't using which worked fine for eons without a
cinch. Upon the recipient receiving it, he downloaded and burned
5.9, as I also have my 5.9 copies. Upon trying to install the
new owner had problems of which I went to install and brought my
own disks. Going through the install I brought my own disks
got it to go through the install, well I thought I did, and mid
way through, well not even midway, but after the OpenBoot session,
the screen gets all fizzed out, and nothing can be seen.

So I'm thinking it's a video card issue. Reset the card, restarted
the install, and same thing, screen gets fizzled out. Anyway else
have this issue before on any new clean install (not an update),
where the video card becomes filled with ``noise'' blocking out
an install? Searched through some of the Sunmanager's archives
and found nothing similar. Will go back and try a 'serial' install
to see if that helps (more than likely it will. One thing to note
I guess would be that the machine hadn't been turned on in some
time. (A year or two)

Now for the next short question, any recommendations on buying
hardware, 100-200gb hard drive for a U5, U10, and U60? Pricing,
ease of install, etal.

Again all responses appreciated.
