I thank Paul for his response:

I have a Maxtor 27gb and an IBM GXP 60 - 60gb disk fitted
in an Ultra 5 running Solaris 8.
The ultra 5 and ultra 10 are same m/b in a different case.
I dont think you can use large disks like these with earlier
Solaris versions.

I also thank Serge Borkov for his response about format, cyl/heads.
