rdist problem (version numbers don't match)

Hi,

please help!!!
as daily I had to redistribute datas among all my servers and today I had an
error on one of them:

"updating host <hostname>
rdist: connection failed: version numbers don't match"
error mean?

I've found in manual that it could be a problem with starting shell- but what
does it mean???
I've checked rlogin and rsh and they are working correctly;
