Hi,
 
The server is SUN E 3500 with solaris 7 OS, with Oracle database running on the server.
 
The observations made by using the TOP commad are,
 
ls command runs with username as root, for several minutes, utilizing 15 to 20% of CPU resources.
 
Any of you have come across this, any OS patch is needed to overcome this.
