Re: redundant power supplies fail to be "redundant"

Thanks to many who responded to this query.

Sun support stated to me there were two variations of power supplies
which shipped with 220/240R's, PN 300-1449-02 and 300-1449-03. The
300-1449-02 version is documented (although not publicily) to be
problematic in causing a system to reboot if power is interrupted to one
of the two power supplies. I should note however that a PS failure, or
pulling a functioning PS out of the front of the system causes no
problem. The -03 variant resolves this.

So if you've set your systems up to use disparate power branches for
redundancy, you may be in for a surprise ;-)
