Hi all,

I have a sun e3500 with Solaris 8 and I have the next situacion:

Some users close the terminals emulators (on pc's) without logout
from the system, others reboot or shutdown yours pc's without logout.

Sometimes, these proccess stay alive on the system and consuming too
much cpu resources.

They are some way to force the termination of these process when the
conexion with the pc is broken?

In SCO Unix 5.0.5 , the solution was modify the telnet configuration
in /etc/inetd.conf to:

telnet stream tcp nowait NOLUID /etc/telnetd telnetd -k 30 -K 1
-N 6

The -k switch force the use of "probes" to check the alive or no of the
connection.

Thank's for any idea.

Thanks to Casper Dik for the (only) reply:

| Check that ufsboot was properly installed during the upgrade.

So I re-ran installboot, and all seems ok now after a reboot.

No thanks to the lusers who can't set up an autoresponder properly,
but I'm not going to list them here ...
