Hi Guys,

Thanks to all who replied. I have installed the imap server from
www.washington.edu as most of you guys and recommended. However, I am
having the following problems implementing it on my solaris 9 box:

First I got the following error when I tried to access my emails from
outlook:

It gave me a message saying that I was missing libssl.so.0.9.7 and
libcrypto.so.0.9.7 so I made the following links to get past these errors:

ln -s /usr/local/ssl/lib/libssl.so.0.9.7 /usr/lib
ln -s /usr/local/ssl/lib/libcrypto.so.0.9.7 /usr/lib

Now I am not getting these errors but I am unable to authenticate with the
system users and it gives me the following error on outlook:

----- Outlook Error----
LOGIN failed

Configuration:
   Account: 192.168.0.5
   Server: 192.168.0.5
   User name: simran
   Protocol: IMAP
   Port: 143
   Secure(SSL): 0
   Code: 800cccd1
-------

# netstat -a | grep imap
      *.imap *.* 0 0 49152 0 LISTEN
#

Any ideas as to why I am not able to authenticate my users? Where is the
authentication done (/etc/passwd file ??)? Any suggestions are greatly
appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
Simran H.
