I'm in the process of planning some storage, and am fairly unfamiliar with the
fibre channel world. What I would like to know is how many of you have
experienced failures of you fibre channel HBAs? I have Qlogic 2340's, and at
this point I havn't planned to use multiple controllers on any host due to the
costs associated, if people report that they lose 1 out of 20 HBA's a year due
to failures I could change my tune pretty quickly though.
What do y'all think? How many 9's of uptime requirement do you need to justify
dual HBAs?
