SUMMARY: Hardware - CPU question

Those for all of the quick answers. Verdict is in; you cannot mix/match
the CPUs on a 220R, it is not supported. Here is the excerpt from the
220R User's Guide. Thanks to Dan Burton for sending that link.

 

Configuration Rules

The following rules apply for your system:

* If you install more than one CPU module, the modules must operate at
identical clock speeds (450 MHz, for example) and they must have the
same size cache memory. This generally means the CPU modules must have
the same part number.

Does anyone know if it is possible to put a 450 MHz processor together

with a 360 MHz processor into a 220R. Also, I would imagine that I

would have to set the jumper setting for the slower processor, and thus

be limited by the slower processor.

 

So IF it is possible then the extra credit question is.

Is two 360 MHz processors (or both running at 360 MHz) faster than one

450 Mhz??
