I am running iPlanet Application Server 6.5 SP1 on a Solaris E450 Box..
For last few days we have found that the app server tries to generate multiple threads randomly and at times
the activity is so much that the app server hangs and as a result our application (jsp) stops to respond and
we either wait for 10-15 minutes or have to restart iPlanet app server.
The backend database server is oracle and web server is iPlanet.
We have also observed that mnay times oracle databases gets locks which do not get released automatically and
this is most of the times that the iPlanet app server starts generting sprodic threads so that our application
becomes very slow or hangs..
has anyone observed similar symptoms ..any advise
