Qlogic qlc(0): Loop ONLINE error on SunBlade 1000 over and over

I'm getting this message over and over in my messages file. This is a sunblade
1000 running solaris 8 10/01 revision with no external storage attached to it,
only a single 36 gig internal drive. I called SUN and was told I need
patch 111097-12 along with the SUNWsan (San Foundation Kit) package and
patches 111095-13 (or newer) fctl/fp/fcp/usoc driver patch
111096-06 (or newer) fcip driver and adb macros patch
111412-11 (or newer) mpxio driver patch

along with these (This is from the 111097 README file)

(from 108984-01)

(from 110190-01)

Why is the SUNWsan foundation kit required if there is no san or storage array on this system?

Has anyone else had this error message and how did you fix the problem?
I noticed a few sunsolve entries that mentioned people had to replace their
mother boards. I'm hoping I don't have to do that. I have another sunblade 1000
running solaris 9 04/01 revision and I have never seen the Qlogic error on it.
