Thanks for all the replies. While there were various answers, the average
consensus was 254. While that is the limit that Solaris
imposes, your
naming service also factors into this, in my case DNS. Thanks to Paul
Albitz & Cricket Liu the correct answer, for my particular situation, is 63,
not including the dot.
